Also, it seems section 42 & 43 of the law is the one specifically dealing with this issue. Ancestry would have to make an offer to renew and/or amend the contract, which could be accepted by the consumer. The consumer would have to physically opt to renew the contract (or the amended contract), it couldn't be automatically renewed. Another point it seems, is the consumer would have to be notified if the contract was modified. So if ancestry decides to pull the military database, and put into a seperate subscription, they would have to inform the consumer at the time of renewal that certain databases in the old contract would no longer be availible (this is an just a for instance, not that they have any plans to seperate it out).
