After hearing Tim Sullivan speak I wanted to respond. What does your view of collaboration look like? Can I still have a private tree? Can DNA tests still be private or attached to a private tree. What does collaborating with familysearch mean? They have taken the wiki tree approach. Are things going to be migrated over to them? How does the DNA play into this? Will searches be easier between the two sites? Does that include trees or DNA?
Thanks Tim for publicly stating that the DNA ethnicity will be improved. We knew this but it was good to hear it. I agree that more people testing could improve results but what else will be done. Nothing was said about improving tools for evaluating DNA results, which has been asked for over and over again. I am so surprised that there wasn't a bigger announcement made about the release of the raw data. This was a fulfillment of a commitment so good job. Now people want tools to work with this but nothing was indicated for improving tools for this. You indicated more matches would be coming out which is great. However, is there a way to improve the ratio of people finding ancestor.
I love the announcement about working on probates. Great news.
I know that this this is for peer to peer discussion so I am curious about what else people heard or what they didn't hear discussed.
