John Sorenson, 82, died Saturday afternoon at his home, 1333 Grove Ave. Mr. Sorenson was born in Denmark, January 24, 1860 and came to Racine when he was 9 years old. The family lived for some time in Illinois, but Mr. Sorenson returned to Racine in 1912, and for 12 years was an employee of the park department. His wife died a year ago.
Survivors are two brothers, Jacob Sorenson of Yorkville, and Charles Sorenson of Chicago, and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Sorenson was a charter member of the Grange Ave. Methodist Church.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Hanson's chapel. Burial will be in Mound cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel tonight.

Mrs. Viola Sorenson, 71, died Tuesday afternoon at her home at 1333 Grove Ave. She was born in Bloomington, Ill. and came to Racine in 1908. She was married to John Sorenson in 1887 at Bloomington. Mrs. Sorenson was a charter member of the Grange Ave. Methodist Church. Survivors are her husband; two brothers, Louis Soule of California, and Howard Soule of McLain, Ill; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Gray of Peoria, Ill., Mrs. Walter Houston of Newaygo, Michigan, and Mrs. Lee Kerr of Wilson, Wis. and a niece, Mrs. Claire Fancher of Racine. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 3:30 P.M. in Hanson's chapel with Rev. Granville Calhoun officiating. Burial will be in Mound cemetery. Friends may call at the Chapel tonight.
