We're talking about private messages on ACOM, not emails, as far as I was aware. But even so, my emails do not inform me whether the recipient has read them or not. I never said "email tracking is some kind of evil undercover operation worthy of the Taliban or CIA" - please do not put words in my mouth. I just suggested that some people might have a problem with it and furthermore, what would be the point of knowing whether or not the recipient read the private message or not? There's nothing you can do about it either way. How does that equal "evil undercover operation worthy of the Taliban or CIA"? I'm just looking at it practically. Clearly, that kind of logic is lost on some people here and I can't talk sense to people like that so never mind.
"You're reading way too much into my request. In NO WAY do I suggest monitoring private messages. There's no harassment to letting someone know the contact information has bounced. Email clients do this all the time."
And I AGREED that letting you know the message has bounced would be beneficial - I only disagree on letting you know if the message has been read or not. Try reading my post properly before you respond and then maybe we can have an actual discussion about this.
