RABBERS, Frances Louise
Of Richland, Michigan
December 5, 1916 - April 19, 2009. If you ever saw her eyes, you would never forget the sparkle and the kindness she offered you through them.
Mom was a bold and adventurous spirit from her youth, growing up in Youngstown, Ohio, the daughter of George and May (nee Shepperd) Hageman.
At 21, she ventured out on her own for Chicago, where she earned her RN degree and made lifelong friends.
She and two of her classmates served in WWII; Mom as an Ensign in the U.S Navy.
Her duty stations included Philadelphia, San Francisco and the convalescent hospital at that renown Naval port of Sun Valley, Idaho! where she met and married Albert J. Rabbers. After 1955, she raised her three kids alone and still managed to buy cool cars like convertibles and a 1967 Mustang.
For nearly 30 years, Mom was the trusted sidekick of Dr. James Breneman, helping minister care to the many patients in his Galesburg clinical practice, and assisting in his research on allergies.
For all her life, Mom made people feel special and beloved.
For all our lives, we will cherish her as grace beyond measure.
Mom was preceded in death just two months ago by son, Michael J.
She is survived by daughters, Dianne M. Rabbers of Richland and Jan L. Rabbers (Jane Thompson) of Minnetonka, MN, daughter-in-law Jerie Rabbers (Kalamazoo, Michigan) and several nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Visitation to celebrate Frances' life is planned for Saturday, May 9th, 2009 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the
9170 East D Avenue,
Richland, MI, 49083
