Thanks Brian,

That was also my assumption. So my next assuptions may be a litle "fresh" However sometimes we have to do it that way.

This girl below here could be a candidate worth checiking out.
Torgon Olsdatter b. 14 Feb 1832 emigrating in 1842 with her parents from Gransherred Telemark 1842 No 49 left page.
Torgon Olsdatter f 14 Feb 1832.

Ole Olson Bergend b. 1803
His wife:
Asloug Rollevsdatter b 1807.
6 children ( I can only see 5?)
Bergith v 27.Th December 1827
Torgun b 14.Th. February 1832
Rollev b. ?? 1836
Margith b 2?. July 1838
Ole b . ? December 1841

The family mentioned above is in Boone Twship, Boone Co. Illinois in1850. Capron was situated in Boone Twship. Ill according to this 1875 map:

The challenge here is that Torgun is not together with the family and I can`t find any candidate nearby. in 1850. They are now using the family name _Wilsen_ 1850 census

Kitill Olsen Kaasa seem also to be in Boone Co. Ill 1850 Se the remarks in the last column:
Kittle Yonson 23 ys.

I see there is another Torgun changing her name to Catherine after coming to US:

Then there is a Catharine Wilson 17 ys in Racine, Racine Co. Wisconsin 1850. Could this be Torgun Olsdatter Bergend ? Or is she deceased ?

Could it be Kittil and Torgun/ Torgan (Catherine) below here in the 1860 census in Boone Twship (Capron) ? :

Finally concerning 1840 or 1841 as emigration year. There were only 2 known recorded departures with norwegian emigrants these years. The same ship Emilie abt 92 passengers each voyage. However in 1839 abt 450.

The known persons (norwegians emigrating in 1840 I have checked out. There is none Torgan/ Torgun among them.
Althoug Torgun (sic) is a rare name it is more common in the rural parts of Telemark and Buskerud.

There are several Torgun we can find among the early (1825-1850) norwegian emigrants. However to connect any of them in any ways to Capron in Boone Co. Ill is a challenge. There is a kind of connection between Torgun Olsdatter Bergend b 1832 and Boone Township. Her parents are there in 1850 but where is Torgun ?
I do see several indication that this could be the girl, but no evidence.
