Dear Ms. Napier-
Did your Green Berry WILLIAMS have a brother named Elijah Charles WILLIAMS? All I know is that my Elijah had a brother named Green. I have a death certificate for a Green B. WILLIAMS who was born in 1865 and died in 1949. He was born, lived, died, and was buried in the same place: Cordia, in Perry County, KY. Again, I don't know if this is the right Green or not. The person on this death certificate sounds like a different Green from yours, but either could be the brother of my Elijah. Here is my line as I have it so far. I just started, so it's short: My husband
Matthew Franklin WILLIAMS, is the son of Vern Franklin WILLIAMS, who is the son of Rufus Anthony WILLIAMS, who was the son of Elijah Charles WILLIAMS. Elijah, so they say, was born in Breathitt County, but there's a possibility it was Perry. Elijah's father was supposedly born in Perry County, possibly in or around Hazard. I have looked at the 1850 Perry County Census, but Elijah wouldn't be on there because he was born in 1860, and I don't know his father's name. I live in Ohio, and cannot get down there to look at later censuses, so right now, I am pursuing what clues I can find. Thanks so much for responding to my post. Perhaps we can find a link, or perhaps you can help me eliminate a false lead! Elaine Williams
