Henrietta (a.k.a. Harriet) Dyer was my 4g grandmother. She was born in Montserrat and arrived in St. Croix about 1800. According to the Christiansted Free Colored Census, 1831, she was a free mulatto, born about 1841. I still haven't found the connection to Samuel Dyer who arrived in St. Croix about 1813. The census indicates that he was born in Montserrat, purchased his freedom, and was 45 years old. In another post you mentioned finding a Margareth Dyer as the mother of Henry and George Barzey. Could there be two Georges? The 1841 Census, says George (b. ~1796, Montserrat) was being supported by his mother H. Deyer.
