It's true what you said about "most". My ancestor, his son James, has very little in the book. He is on the very bottom on page 146 and half of the next page. Later a descendant of his, named Coffee ironically enough, did some research on him. James had apparently married twice, at least, and she'd descended from the later wife while I'd come from the other spouse.

Her research included lots of his line EXCEPT my ancestor. James' son Joel P Maxwell was my ancestor and he apparently had many cousins with the same name. Mine stayed in Georgia, married Mahala/Matilda Roberson and fathered, among others, the Confederate soldier James Wilburn Maxwell, who also added abundantly to the Maxwell lines.

You are fortunate to know where your Maxwell's are laid to rest. Some, James and Joel P. (MY Joel P), seem to be lost to time and absence of markers.

Fortunately for me, another descendant from the line of James Wilburn Maxwell did some wonderful research and analysis. Thanks to her I can prove my lineage and plan to join DAR.

We are happy to know where James Wilburn in in NW Georgia. He is w/ his good wife Eliza Jane and some of this children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and sadly even great great great grandchildren.

I find it exhilarating to know I come from such a large and marvelous Maxwell family.
