The John and Lizy you mention were my uncle and aunt. His brother, my father, was Edward John Hille, born in Massac Co., 18 aug 1869. Their parents did in fact come from Ohio to Il and as the story goes I think my father's mother did have her mother with her in Il. My father was 69 when I was born and his father was 50 when he was born, so I go back quick, but don't know a lot before Massac Co. They had a farm up by St John's Luthern church Northeast of Round Knob.Il My grand parents and father are buried in that cemetary. John and Lizy had a farm down near Joppa I think. There were about 8 or nine kids, Henry,Your John, my father, Andrew, Emma (Croal/Kroal?), Mattie (Hurley), Sophie (OBrian), and Annie (David). I have a rubbing of the family tomb if you are interested in the exact dates I will send them to you.The story goes that a brother stayed in Ohio and there are Hilles in the area they first went. I to would like to know where they came from. I do know they left from Bremerhaven (sp), but have not found them on any manifest. Hope this gives you something you can use.
