Excuse me? I don't recall asking anyone to check into these names for me. . . it would only be a waist of your time If I had asked you too. I was merely stating a complaint! I've been doing research a VERY long time and have used Ancestry as a tool for your years and am quite capable of utilizing various ways one can search records using "Search". I can't explain why something that was previously indexed suddenly becomes "un-indexed". Sorry you felt that way, it was not my intention, what-so-ever, to waist your time.
One document in particular was for "Flem Williams", 1880 Census, Elbert County, Ga. I found this quite some time ago on Ancestry.
Yesterday, I wanted to test the search....Search>All Collections.... from the homepage and got no results....so than tried just the surname and place and wife was indexed only....none of the children were indexed. I than did the same from the 1880 Census search page itself and got the same results. Now, this afternoon, I did the same thing searching All Collections" for "Flem Williams" , Lived in Elbert County, Ga and now he appears again as he did doing the same search years ago.
That is my complaint...records previously found using ancestry seem to come and go....sometimes they are missing from the general All Collections (with keywords) search and sometimes they are missing from the direct indexes themselves and vise versa. I did quite a bit of looking yesterday and today for records that I know came from ancestry because I cite records as I get them.
