I am trying to find information about Robert Edgar. Birthplace and date unknown, however suspect Scotland abt 1864. He was the Secretary in the Ontarion Ministry of Labor from about 1911 to about 1817, then was employed with the Employment Service of Canada.

All of this information I have gleaned from the Toronto City Directories. His address was 317 Church St and appears in the annual directories until 1931. He is not listed in 1932, so I'm wondering if he died 1931/32.

In 1915, the family of James Ritchie Edgar was living with Robert Edgar. James R Edgar was my husband's grandfather and he had just brought his own family over from Scotland. I suspect that Robert Edgar might have been an uncle to James, however I don't have enough information about Robert Edgar.

Does anyone know anything about Robert Edgar? Any suggestions? Thanks

Death Registrations are available on microfilm for the year 1932 from the Provincial Archives.

You can also search the Toronto Star Pages of the Past - to see the search results there is a charge (shortest ~$5 for five hours) - if there was a death notice, it will probably mention next of kin, and which cemetery he was buried in.

Hi Grace,

I've already checked the Toronto Star as you suggested, with no luck. Thanks for the update on the 1932 death register - I'll look into it!
