Hello

I am looking for information about Hans Harder, born in 1742, probaly in Denmark, died in 1761 in Norway. Married to Bodil Sophie Kleist 28 Aug 1743 in Helligånd church in Copenhagen. Who where there children? Is it a connection to Nikolay Christian Harder born 1752 in Norway?

Maybe you will have a better chance with your query if you correct it (you say Hans Harder born 1742 marries Bodil Sophie Kleist in 1743). Also it seems you are actually interested in Nikolay Christian Harder born 1752 in Norway, and you only happened to notice the same surname in Denmark? If Nikolay is your true interest, then research is needed in Norwegian records (and thus the Norway message board might help you better).

I did look through Ancestry.com family trees for Hans Harder, Bodil Sophie Kleist, Nikolay Christian Harder - and the trees are hopelessly snarled with impossible combinations (a mother giving birth at age 7 and so on). Probably best to start by posting all you know about Nikolay Christian Harder and work back from there to establish his parents, ancestors, and cousins.

If I could directly help you, I would. Maybe the suggestion can help a little.

Mvh

Ørn Pedersen Myhre has two active threads on a Norwegian forum on this topic:

Take care not to waste your time "falsterden".

I do not suppose that everybody in here can read or understand Norwegian. So of course I have two active threads on a Norwegian forum, but they are written in Norwegian. It would be foolish of me to suppose that Ancestry users are able to understand norwegian. Therfore I have written on this message board in English to be able to reach all the others who do not speak Norwegian but who may have some information about this.

Thank you to both. Ørn, your reasoning is sound and appreciated. The links Karsten added are appreciated as well, as they allow any reader of this thread to benefit from the research underway elsewhere.
