I am looking for information on David Brough Troxel (my wife's great grandfather). David married Sarah Effie Osborne in Neoga, Illinois on April 28 1898. In 1922 he was living in Deland, Illinois. I'm particularly interested in his ancestors.

I got your reply to an earlier message I sent but could not get my answer to go back to you. My address is Jeri Nielsen, 314 North 12th Street, Clarinda, Iowa 51632. I will be glad to send you copies of what I have if you send me your address. It looks like we are definitely related. I show that David Brogh was born May 4, 1861 in Lake Fork, Ohio. I have the same date of marriage to Sarah Effie Osborne. I also show that he died on April 21, 1928 in Clinton, Illinois and was buried in Deland. He died in a hospital in Clinton. He was the brother of my grandmother (Clara Delvina who married Henry Milton Davis).

Thier parents were John Troxel and Maria (Hassinger) Troxel. They were married in September 1853. John was killed in a saw mill accident on September 1, 1870 in Monroe township, Richland County, Ohio. He was born in Ohio. They had 13 children. After his death she married Jackson Wise in 1872 and had 4 more children.

Maria (or Mariah) was born December 5, 1836 in Monroe Township, Richland County, Ohio. She died in 1921 at age 88 in Bigelow, Holt County, Missouri. She was living with my grand parents at the time. She was the 2nd of 9 children born to Abraham and Sarah (Brogh) Hassinger. They were "Pennslyvania Dutch" or in other words - German. I have the Hassingers back several generations. I believe Sarah was born in Hanover, Germany in 1803.

I have the Hassingers back to Anton who was born in Germany before 1691. Abraham's mother was Eve Elizabeth Biechler born in Penn. in 1774. Her parents were Johann Biechler and Maria Catherine.

My e-mail is

Let me know your address and I will send you copies of what I have. I would really appreciate copies of what you have.

If it is OK, I will send your name to a cousin's husband who I ran across who is also researching this line through David Brogh.
