Josiah and Ruth Hunter Brooks, from North Carolina settled there in the 1820's. They moved to Newton Co., GA around 1832, but I think some of their older offspring stayed around Moultrie. I think one more may have moved back. All this is in "Brooks and other Kindred Families" by Ida Brooks Kellam published in 1950. I'm descended from them. If you have any specific names, I'll be happy to check the book for you.
