Peter Olds “Ashiwoniquodweby” “Ashewoniquodweby” aka Old Peter (EAGLE CLAN), Son of Osharwinipinesy and Ogigo his wife, was born at the Grand River in the year 1776 and baptised the 31st of July 1825. By Revd. Alvin Torry. Peter Olds, a very aged man, supposed to be about 100 years of age, though only 93 by the register, died on the 21st of June 1869 and was buried on the 23rd of said month. George “Mookejewunooka” King died the 6th of March 1874 and was buried on the 8th. He was Chief, Local Preacher, Class Leader and Interpreter. He was a good upright man, much respected. Died very happy, clapped his hands and exclaimed, “Come Lord Jesus, come quickly.” His loss will be deeply felt. Buried in front of Church. By me E. Tennant.

Revd. William Herkimer died the 3rd Oct. 1875 and was buried on the 5th. Revd. William Willoughby preached and Revds. William Morton, William Hawke and E. Tennant took part in services. He was a good man, and desired to see the work prosper. He was sick about 3 weeks, expressed unshaken confidence in God. Died on a beautiful Sabbath morning. We miss him very much, but our loss is his gain. He died in the 75th year of his age. E. Tennant.

James Tahwah, died 10th July 1873 and buried on the 12th. Aged 72. Had been a member over 40 years, was a good man and died happy in God. Disease consumption. E. Tennant.

Susan Tahwah, widow of the late James Tahwah Sr., died 19th Feb. 1876 buried the 20th, aged 80 years, over 40 years a member, only a few hours sick. E. Tennant.

George Herkimer, Brother George Herkimer died after a short illness of four days. On Thursday a.m. August 19th 1880 and was buried Aug. 20th p.m. He was a good man and served God above many. He was an assistant Leader, steward and leader of the singing in the Church. The Church deeply mourns their loss. He was devoted to God and his church while living. Edwy Herkimer aka Edwy Spencer adopted son of Lawrence Herkimer, Edwy’s proper surname is Spencer. (DEATH OF EDWY SPENCER 16 Apr 1896, He and his son Abram had spent the winter at the head of the Grand River Hunting and Trapping. They were on their way home in their canoe coming down the river with the flood. The son says they stopped at Elora overnight, and he heard his father ask a man if it would be safe to go down the river, and he was told Yes if you are a good canoeman.They left Elora about sunrise and had proceeded about a half mile when they came to a rocky gorge with perpendicular banks. Their canoe filled with water, they got out and hung onto it. The father about middle the son at the end. It was a wooden dugout canoe. They drifted some distance when the boat struck a rock, and they were both separated from it. Abram says his father went over the canoe and he thinks he must have struck a rock and been stunned, for he was a good swimmer. Abram drifted down until he came to an eddy and then got ashore. The canoe and all of its contents, except Abram, are so far lost.)

Frederick Tahwah, son of the late James Tahwah and Susan his wife, was killed by the cars on the 23rd Oct. 1875 and buried 24th. He was drunk, was run over by freight train and lost one arm and the other hand and it is supposed he then sat up on the track and in 20 minutes after the express came and threw him over 30 feet where he struck against the fence and no doubt was instantly killed.
