Mother married an American during the war
..I was given up for adoption. I want to locate my Danish ancestors or living relatives. Mother's married name ...Aase Engblom...married in Copenhagen. Please advise...

I note you posted a similar query in 2008, with no answer found.

It might help our Danish friends identify her if you list her birthdate, and is the marriage date known?

You state she was married during the war, and the European war ended in 1945:

Ancestry lists an Arthur Milton Engblom 38 and wife Aase 25 who arrived New York from Copenhagen twice, in January and again in September of 1951.

Were you born and given up earlier?

That is the correct listing..not sure why she is listed as coming over twice...I was adopted after she came here...married in 1950 or 51..both my mother and stepfather are now deceased. But I know she had a brother 0 Paul. I know she was born 1925.

A correction to my first reply:
Both were listed on the January manifest, with 7 pieces of luggage, but only Aase was on the September manifest.

She must have returned to Denmark for some reason, possibly a death in her family?

Both manifests list same U. S. address:
8432 164th St, Jamaica New York.

She. May have gone back as she. Was all alone here..except. Arthur her husband. She was having trouble acclimating

What was your mother's name when she died; did she have a Social Security number?

If so her original application may have her maiden name, and you can order a copy here:
