Hello! We are Dick and Sharon (Tisor) Peterson in Mason City, Iowa. I am just getting back into doing some genealogy searching after several years of inactivity. My wife's lineage is as follows:
Sharon Lee Tisor
Leo Allen Tisor: b. Hardin Co. IA, 1910
John Henry Tisor: b. Hardin Co., IA 1865
Andrew T. Tisor, b. Clark Co., Ohio, 1832
Gabriel Tiser, listed in the 1830 census
Clark County, German Twp, Ohio.
The connection being that in some information we have, Jacob born March 28, 1828, appears to be a brother of Andrew, the line we are following and trying to trace. I really don't have a lot more than that, but please feel free to contact us. It would appear we are following the same general line. You might also contact a Debra Tisor, at one time of Washington, Iowa who is also tracing the same line (Jacob).

I have research on the Tisor that you requested. Have we corresponded in the past?

HI. I saw your info about some Tisor's and was wondering about the Andrew Tisor. Did he move to Indiana and marry a woman named Sarah Himes? Did he have a daughter named Margaret E. Tisor who married a James H. Lamb? I also have that Andrew also moved to Iowa after he was in Indiana. Can you let me know if any of this matches? These are my ancestors and I am stuck at Andrew and Sarah Tisor and I have nothing before them. Thank you very much. Stephanie Maddox

I just looked at your posting of 13Oct2002 on the Ancestry.com message board. In answer to your questions:
Yes, Andrew moved from Ohio to Indiana, and Sarah Hines was his 1st wife. Yes, they had a daughter, Maragret Elizabeth Tisor, b. May 25, 1855, in Louisa County, Iowa, she married James Henry Lamb, June 8, 1878, in Louisa County, Iowa, and died April 17, 1935 in Wapello, Iowa. Yes, Andrew moved from Indiana to Louisa County, Iowa, and there married Nancy Clarence in 1860 in Louisa County. there were no children to this union. Andrew then married Nancy Emily Lawrence, March 25, 1864. To this marriage there were 6 boys, Jason, John Henry, George W., Frank, Charley and Ira (twins), and 4 girls, Martha, Elizabeth A., Mary Alice, and Cynthia. Jason died in infancy or was still-born. John Henry married Grace Agnes Hemenway and they had 5 boys and a girl. The next eldest boy Leo Allen is my wife's father.

We recently acquired infromation and lineage dating to the mid 1700's in North Carolina and/or Virginia, which we are still trying to digest. The first name in the information is William, wife Margaret, surname unlisted/unknown. Their first born is Gabriel b. Oct 8,1771. The author concluded that the may have immigrated to America in the middle 1700 from Portugal via France. The father or grandfather of William may have been a mercenary or soldier for hire and went to France to fight in a war, then migrated to America. Those are hypothetical at this point and I have not seen and REAL proof.

Please contact me and we can compare notes.

Please refer to the two postings I made on April 26, 2003, both are in reference to Jacob Tisor. Jacob would be a brother of my wife's ggfather, Andrew Tisor. His father was William, decended from Gabriel, from William, born in Northumberland County, Virginia, c. 1756. The reference you make to having been born in England is possible, but I have yet to find that connection. Feel free to contact me for further information.
