Two Computers?

I finally worked up the courage to sync my new laptop to my tree on Ancestry and it appears that everything worked properly. I had done all of the work on Ancestry and downloaded the entire tree to my new laptop with a new clean version of FTM2012.

Now the question is can I load FTM 2012 onto my wife's laptop and sync it to Ancestry? Will the program function between two computers and Ancestry? Thanks

No, your wife's laptop will need to access the ancestry.com database through a browser. The ancestry.com database can only sync to one computer.

There is a way to sync your FTM file on your computer with another computer via Dropbox. I've not tried it, but folks have posted here that they can do it.

You might do a search for dropbox and see if you can find some messages that explain.

the license says "LIMITED USE LICENSE

I installed it on two machine with the FTM files on a network share. We just use it one at a time. My files are backed up in two external locations, one an eSATA drive and the other A Western Digital DX4000 network backup machine. It runs Microsoft Windows Storage Server 2008 R2 Essentials software and will backup 25 machines.
