Help! I am trying to find the roots of my great-grandmother: Rebecca McAskill. She came over here during the great Child migration. If anyone knows what part of Britian she came from or any information about her, please contact me. Or give me any tips that would be helpful in my quest. Thank you!

My grandmother's name is Dorthory but unfortunately I can't remember her madien name. She is still alive along with my grandfather whose name is Edward. He is the decendant of Rebecca and James Watson. James died at an early age from a heart attack I think.

Watson, McAskill

Hello there Rebecca,
There were many MacAskills (however spelled) in the area of Skye and Glenelg (where I am from).
Many of my own family were evicted to the "new world" in the 19th century.
I am not familiar with the "child migration" that you mention, but would be very interested to hear from you.

If, by "Child Migration" you mean the Middlemore Home Children, you can write them for her record. Go on line to Middlemore Home Children.
