Layton L. Yancey II
Layton Lee Yancey II, 85, of Keezletown, died at the Harrisonburg Health and Rehabilitation Center on July 27, 2003, where he had been a patient since March.
He was born on Sept. 16, 1917, in Rockingham County, and was the son of the late William L. and Pearl Hylton Yancey.
He lived his entire life in the Rockingham County area and was a self-employed dairy farmer. He was a member of the Fellowship Methodist Church.
On June 20, 1948, he married Virginia Sipe, who preceded him in death on April 6, 2000.
He is survived by a daughter, Joyce Y. Evers and her husband, Donald, of Bridgewater; a son, Layton L. Yancey III of Keezletown; a granddaughter, Annette Evers of Bridgewater; two brothers, Andrew Yancey of Harrisonburg, and Walter Yancey of Luray.
Burial will be at Eastlawn Memorial Gardens at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, 2003.
Memorial services will be held 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 30, at the Bethel Church of the Brethren in Keezletown with the Rev. Don Guthrie officiating.
The family will receive friends following the memorial service at the church.
