Lipsky (Lipski) Family

Surnames: Lipsky (Lipski)
Looking for any information and ancestors of the Lipsky family, they departed Hamburg Germany in April 1893 and arrived in New York , May 1983. Settled in Massachusetts 1899.
Meyer Lipsky born in 1875, left Suwalk, Russland in 1893 . He sailed on the ship Gellert departed from Hamburg in April 1893. He arrived In New York May 6, 1893.
He was married to a Ida Rabotmick, I don’t think she came with him on that voyage, I can’t find any documentation to verify that .
I’m looking for any information on how many children they had besides my great great grandmother Rebecca Lipski. I’m trying to locate information on her siblings.

Here’s some documentation regarding Rebecca, daughter of Meyer Lipski and Ida Robotmick. It’s a Social Security application thar said she was born December 25, 1890 in Palanev, Soviet Union. I was wondering if she had any brothers and sisters who were also born in the Soviet Union?

In searching for more information, Rebecca Lipski married Israel Issac Kramer in Russia. I have been told this was an arrangement by the Temple. Israel came to New York first in 1909, Rebecca stayed behind with two children Jennie and Alec, Rebecca and her two children came in 1911. I don’t know if she came with a sister , she was traveling with her two children. Jenny was born in 1908 and Alec was born in 1910, according to his immigration documents Israel left for America by himself. Israel worked in a grocery store with other immigrants until he could send for his family.
Rebecca’s parents from what I could find out about Meyer and Ida Lipski arrived in New York in 1893. I don’t know if they came with other children that’s what I’m trying to find out. Some of the dates don’t match the information I found so I’m working on searching for more documentation.

There are a few Lypsky families who travelled to New York about the time you mention, but they came via UK ports which indicates they would have travelled to UK first and then on from there to USA. Not doubt this was the movement of the passenger shipps for people going onto the USA,

Can you give some names in order that I do not give you irrelevant information.

You are aware that "Russia" of old can be Poland, Lithuania, Belarus, Russia or Ukraine. It all depends on Location. Do you know where your ancestor was born?
What US records do you have on your LIPSKY/LIPSKI ancestor?
Was this ancestor naturalized US citizen? Had social security numbers?
Your ancestor Hebrew. Do you know www.jewishgen.org

~Ida Rabotmick he was married to.
From what record is Ida's spelling of her maiden name? It looks "americanized".
It could have been RABOTNIK or ROBOTNIK.

No way to know. I'm only pointing out the similarity in the spelling found in Poland to your Americanized version.

What an imagination on the mother's maiden name. I suppose RABOTNIK must sound as RUBUTER to an English speaker.
