Problem with keying fields. They downloaded with the Spouse Father Given, Spouse Father Surname, Spouse Mother Given and Spouse Mother Surname first, then the Father Given, Father Surname, Mother Given, Mother Surname. This is the opposite of what the Wiki shows.

I have a page of births where the first line shows the parents and several sunsequent lines do not. They appear to be children of the same parents judging by the birth dates. Do I copy the parents' names down?

In the image sets I have downloaded they show up in Father, Mother, Spouse, Father of Spouse, Mother of Spouse order.

You can rearrange the order of the columns by clicking on a column header and dragging it to where you want it to be.

Kate,
I am not sure about that. Two things that stick out are there being two Josephs and that the last child is born from different parents.

Would you mind pasting a pic the entire record?

On the first image set I have downloaded, I have already come across quite a few dates out of the expected range - 1895, 1870, 1870, 1886, 1891, etc. I am keying these and F7ing them; hope this is what you want us to do?

If this is the same book that is already available on ancestry, then it may be worth reading the introduction (link below) which states "that the births and deaths are grouped so as to better enable the reader to see at a glance the names and dates, in their natural order, of the members of the family".

http://search.ancestry.co.uk/Browse/BookView.aspx?dbid=15395...

I haven't managed to work out whether this is the same book and I am off to bed now as it's late here!

(By the way, it was quite usual for a family to have more than one child of the same name if the first one died young.)

Marriage Records

Father of groom and bride field help for surname says to use the child's as it will normally not be recorded. What about the mother's of the groom and bride. This instruction is missing in their surname field helps. Does this mean that we don't assume from the child unlike the father's for marriage events.
