Memorial Service for Nathan Frizzell

A Memorial Service and military headstone placement for Revolutionary War veteran Nathan Frizzell at Frizzell Cemetery in Calloway County, Kentucky, is planned for Sunday, May 24, 2009 at 2:30 PM. The grain bins of Burchett Farms on Airport Road are just to the north side of the lane going back to the cemetery. A local minister will be performing the service as military chaplain. We have the beginnings of a military honor guard and should be adding to it. There should be a good display of American flags at the service and we have a good number of descendants and relatives of Nathan Frizzell already committed to coming. This has been a joint effort by the Veterans of Foreign Wars and Sons of Confederate Veterans.

Any questions or comments appreciated,

How wonderful all that is being done.
The DAR Index has one with similar name & since he died in Kentucky--it might be the same man.
FRISSELL, NATHAN Ancestor #: A042773
Death: 12-17-1843 CALLOWAY CO KENTUCKY
Pension Number: *S3380

That is him, except that is not the captain from his pension record--thus what we had put on the headstone.

Some of the DAR entries are old and many are being updated so perhaps someone will correct the error. Sometimes it doesn't happen until a new applicant supbmits her application with the correct information or someone notifies the DAR of the information in the pension that doesn't agree with what they have. Back in the 1930's the DAR found out that my Patriot had the wrong wife's name plus the Regiment was wrong. There was another man with same name from same county & state who was married to this woman. He applied for a pension 20 years after my Patriot died. Her father's will was found and it contained her children & husband's names. Children my Patriot did not have. Plus it proved the age difference.
