My grandmother has researched our geneaology quite extensively...I'd like to learn how it matched up with everyone else's. WE still have our family farm which was homesteaded by William Crawley in the early 1800's.

Did any of your Crawley relatives go to the lower Mississippi or Alabama area. I am searching for Benjamin Crawley who married Polly Riles in Mobile County on 5 Jul 1848. They had at least one daughter, Rebecca.

Any connection?

I spoke with my Grandmother who keeps our geneaology...She didn't have her records with her at the time...but she believes that the Benjamin Crawley that you are referring to moved to Arkansas..where he either changed his name to Crowley..or there was an error in record keeping that due to illiteracy was not caught..she believes he is the ancestor that homesteaded the famous "Crowley's Ridge" area of Arkansas. There is now a national park..with his homestead cabin and various other attractions there now. She is snowed in at our farm right now...but as soon as she gets back to the house in town ..where she keeps her records she will let me know some definites...Thanks, and I will let you know some more info as soon as I find out!

I look forward to any information you can provide on Benjamin Crawley/Crowley. I'm not sure if I had this in my posting, but I believe his wife to be Polly Riles.

We had 6 inches of snow and ice here, too. So I understand "digging out".

Stephanie, I take it you are in Wm. S. Crawley's line. I am in Solomon R. Craley's line both from James. Betty and Linda Crawley helped me with William's line. I have been to the Crawley farms in Arkansas.
How are you related? Do you have any more inforamtion on James (b. abt 1799) and his wife Anna Martin or any of their children. I haven't been able to trace any of the children except Solomon and William. Is this Benjamin Crowley they were talking about related to us?

Is your ancestor that settled in Arkansas William Samuel Crawley and is the homestead South of Prarie Grove? William Samuel is my great-great grandfather. His son, Washington Burgess Crawley (my great grandfather) moved to Maysville, AR in 1910 when my grandfather, William Clifford, was 10 years old. Maybe we are cousins. Let me know.
