Well I see your grandparents are not in the 1930 census. The Dickey family arrived in Texas sometime after 1916, thereabouts. The Hooten family was in Hopkins County in 1850. I was born in Hopkins county a hundred years later!

Hooten, Earl A. married Dickey, Leota 09 Aug 1924, Hopkins
Hooten, Earl married Allen, Poshia 18 Jun 1938, Hopkins
Dickey, E. D. married Hooten, Lucy 02 Aug 1924, Hopkins Co

The above marriage license were never picked up and are in the possession of the Hopkins Co Gen Soc. These may be obtained by immediate family member for $2.00 fee. Many licenses have already been picked up. Contact the research library for more details. 212 Main St, Sulphur Springs.

Some people did not have very good handwriting and then the people who had to transcribe these records did the best they could to read it. Your Hooten family was transcribed as Holten for the 1900 record. I finally used just the first name of Earl, born 1898.
