Madonna,
I have absolutely no idea if or how we might be connected, but your Powell family names are very familiar. We have the James, John, Martha, Elizabeth, which are common enough, but the Jasper and Newton are not common names. In fact this is the first time I have seen them in any Powell family other than mine. Do you know where this family originated from and who their parents were?

My were in SC @ 1800, then moved into North GA from @ 1825 to 1860. From there the moved into AL the family grew large and has many descendants there today.

See any way we might have a connection?

THanks,

Sue

I have no idea "Yet" where my Powell family came from. Iknow that Franklin Powell died in Dec. 24, 1867 in Saline CO., Ill. His first wife was Elizabeth Anderson and they were married in March 1850 in Johnson Co., Ill. I have not searched the Johnson Co. Census for him yet. But Newton was born in Jan 1857 in Dunklin Co., Mo. and I have not found them in Mo. James Franklin, my gggrandfather was born 1861 In Illinois , he married Celia Bohannon in Saline Co., Ill. Newton was married the first time in 1877 in Williamson Co., Ill. I have looked for the name of Franklin Powell and have found several around the country and have found one in the Civil war but have not for sure found my Franklin Powell. Do you have any in Mo., or Illinois. Madonna
