Surnames: British deaths in Ringkobing
I and others are trying to figure out why our relatives wound up in Ringkobing Denmark and dying there. My relative William H Lee died there in 1901. I have no idea why, and I don't know if his body was returned to the US or what. Don't know if his wife Harriet was with him perhaps on a tour. Anyone know if a sickness was happening then? or some calamity? It's very odd.

I saw posts at British deaths in Ringkobing message board but cannot seem to figure out how to get my message on. These people have the same type of questions.

Thanks to anyone who can assist...I greatly appreciate any ideas or information. I can pay it forward if there isn't something that I can assist you with.

Hi Kris,

Ringkøbing is both a parish and an amt(similiar to a state in the US). The church records of Denmark are the official records so the death of William H. Lee would be listed. I looked through the 1901 death records for Ringkøbing parish and his death is not listed there. There are probably 100 or more parishes in Ringkøbing amt.
