I am looking for information on my husband's gg grandfather, Jacob Bidinger/Bedinger. Jacob was born 11 Jul 1827 in Conz, Germany. He came to America in 1854 and located in Peoria, IL. He then migrated to Indiana, where he married Catherine Gottring. From there, they went to Kansas, where they raised 10 children.

I have been stuck on this line for a long time. Any assistance would be very much appreciated. Thanks.

My name is Carrie Ritter, daughter of Cindra Meek Frazier Ritter, granddaughter of Dormalee Bedinger Frazier. Maxines sister. George and Minnie were my g-grandparents. My mom said you are Barbaras' daughter. I do not have any additional information at this time. I am going to talk to my grandmother for information. My mom told me that Patty Hutchinson has the family bible. We are going to call Patty and have her send the information in the bible. I know that George was born 9-4-1882 and died 4-7-1953. I also know that Minnie died after 1963, but we don't know when. Please email me so that we may swap info. cjr6966@yahoo.com.

The reason I am replying to your message is the name Harriet. Abraham Thornton married Minerva Jane Ingram in 1839 Edgar co., Ill. On the 1850 census the head head of the family (Edgar co.) is listed as Abiah, In this household there is a daughter named Harriet. As time went by Harriet is listed as Ida. I do not know od a reason for the name change but she used Ida until her death in 1905. These Thorntons claimed to have come from Thornton Abbey in England..Jim Heady

This was posted quite some time ago, not sure how far you got but help if I can. Konz, is just south of Trier as is Fellerich and Tawern, where the Bidinger's originate. Feel free to look at my tree and see if any of my group match with yours.
