Is there anyone out there willing to help me dicipher the town name where my ancestors were from? I have been pouring over it for days now and can't make it out for the life of me. They immigrated from somewhere in Eastern Europe in the late 1800's they did say it was Russia, and all I can make out is Lamask or Lamarsk... but I can't find any cities by that name or even close. There is also another city listed on one of the manifests that begins with an O and almost looks like Olishoff. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Where are you finding the placename "Olishoff"?

If it is from an online document can you give us the link?

Or if it is on a document that you have can you scan and post the image here?

What are the ancestors names?
