Hi Marilyn, I have ancestors that show up in local papers as having the Weidenbach spelling in earlier years and the Weidenbacher spelling since the 1900's. The ancestor I am looking for is Georg Weidenbach born in Baden, Germany around 1849. He was married in Louisiana where he died. His father was alson named Georg but we don't know the name of his mother. The only immigration information I have is that they arrived in New Orleans around 1867, 1868. HELP...:) Thanks, Peter

Marilyn,
I've been trying to locate the family of my gg-gm, Walburga Weidenbach[er], found surname spelled both ways. I have no date of birth, death, etc. All I know from the Galveston TX 1870 census is that she was born in Germany. She married Fabian Kimling/Kimmlng/Kummle around 1867, unknown where. She and Fabian had 3 children: Caroline Walburga, b 2 apr 1868, d 17 may 1869, in Galveston; Constantin Michel/Michael, b 30 nov 1869, d 19 dec 1943,in Galveston married Josephine Louisa Forrestier, had 5 sons, 4 lived to maturity; and John Fabian, b 1 apr 1872 in Galveston, d unknown. Fabian married a Catherine DeMare in LA in 1879, so I assume that Walburga had died prior to that marriage. They were Catholic, and the grandsons were all reared in that religion.
Any help would be appreciated
TIA
Casey

Killian Weidenbach is in the 1870 and 1880 census of Illinois in Will County. He died Oct. 17, 1898 in same county. I am trying to find out the names of his children in particular if he had a son named William in 1873 who was adopted by Charles Kettinger of Peotone,Will,Illinois.
