Cain and Elizabeth Derenzy came from County Wexford to Ontario Canada in the late 1840s. The family then went into Michigan.

I am searching for the parents names of
Eurithe Philips who was born May 24, 1819
in Ireland. I know that she was an only
child whos father died in an accident,
5 months before she was born.
She moved to Ontario, Canada as a very young
child and settled in Leeds County.
Her family names are Houghton/Horton,
Kenderick, and Derenzie.
Eurithe married a man named Joseph Copeland
whos family was from Wexford, Ireland.
Eurithe named one of her children "George
Derenzie Copeland", therefore I can safely
assume that this is a family name.
I think that Derenzie/Derenzy is a very
uncommon surname. Therefore, I am hoping
that maybe someone with this same family
name might be able to help me.

I have done some family tree searching over the years, but have not found anyone by the name you are searching for. Keep my address and perhaps we can connect some time in the future to share other information. What is your last name?

My 2xgt-grandmother was Anne Derenzy born c1825...married James Holohan and was living in Bagenalstown, Co. Carlow in 1845 when their son Thomas was born. She may have come from Co. Wexford. Any connection?

Still searching for Richard Derenzy/Derenzie/Derency from Ireland, most likely Wexford Co. related to Copeland/Philips family. Richard Derency, was one of noble Six Hundred who won fame in the Crimean War. Richard Derency, uncle to George Derenzie Copeland b. 1850, Lansdowne, Leeds Co., Canada, who lived in Salisbury, Chariton Co., MO. Derenzy/Derenzie/Derency was strong middle name in my ancestry.

Would appreciate help with this family search and where one can view names of the noble 600 and history of Crimean War.

Hi Barbara,

I have information about S. De Rinzy who did some exploring in Australia in 1859-60. He was said to have inherited a large fortune in Ireland and returned there in 1860. Is he of any interest to you? I would love to track down the journal he kept during his explorations but that may be a forlorn hope.

Hello Darrell,
I saw your posting to Barbara Salazar....I too have an interest in all persons DeRenzy, Derenzy, DeRenzie, Derinzy etc. Many variants of the name. My 2XGreat Grandmother was Ann Derenzy...born probably c1820. Place and parents unknown...she married James Holohan and was living in Bagenalstown Co. Carlow when they had son Thomas in 1845. I know the DeRenzy family were mostly found in Co. Wexford earlier. This is not a common name and I believe all with the name may stem from Matthew Derenzy who came to Ireland in the 1600's. He was born in Cologne, Germany. Love to hear back from you.
