Were the marriage and baptismal records microfilmed by the LDS FHL?

Check the Library Catalog on familysearch.org, there are many Catholic Churches in Milwaukee County.

If you're in the area, the Hales Corner FHC has all the available films on hand.

The CC put the kaboosh on the LDS filming all the registers.
You can go direct to the Arch Diocese, unfortunately, no on-site research: http://www.archmil.org/offices/archives/GenealogicalResource...

Thank you....I haven't had to search the Library Catalog to the past few years and either I forgot how to do it or there have been some changes....I was having no success.

Again....thank you.

familysearch.org has been going a the change for better or worse. You can still access the old (familar) site interface. On the main page of familysearch.org, hit the blue bar *Go to previous site* on the right side of the page. I find I'm checking both *previous* and *current* interfaces to make sure I'm not missing something.

This link (hopefully) will take you direct to the page of on the Milwaukee Churches film available (on the "previous site")

The good news of change is you can now order the film on-line and have it sent you your local FHC: https://www.familysearch.org/films/

Here's a link to partial transcription extracts of St Adelbert's and Holy Name:

This site has a listing of the churches on an interactive map. http://www.archmil.org/parishes/Find-Parish.htm#. I've used it in conjunction with location census data to narrow the possibilities of what parish to research in. The interactive map is contemporary, the data on the census is not. Milwaukee streets changed in 1931, here's a link to sort out the changes: http://stevemorse.org/census/changes/MilwaukeeChanges0.htm.

Here's a link to historical Milwaukee Maps that can come in handy: http://www4.uwm.edu/libraries/digilib/Milwaukee/records/maps...

Hope that helps.

If you contact the archdiocese, they have research folks who will privde you with copies of the handwritten records from the churches you ask about...baptisms, marriages, etc. They ask for a donation after their record search has been sent to you. I found the records helpful, however many of them were written in the latin manner, so Frank becomes Franciscus, etc.
