I have from parish records that William married Maria Blackman. Is that correct?

Any chance you want to share your information with me - I always give credit to the original researcher.

You can see the entire family tree that I have researched so far at then click on Benskin.

I'm trying to get as many Benskin family members as possible in one data base that can be shared with others.

I have SOME information about my end of the Benskin family. Most of the genealogy I got from Maureen Obrien (nee Benskin) who has posted on this site frequently. Almost all of my information is anecdotal (or legendary) and dates only from about the middle of the nineteeth century. If anyone is interested in what I have, p[lease don't hesitate to write to me directly, but please put BENSKIN in the "about" section of the email address thingy.

Greetings to any Benskin out there.

Ben (yup! school, college, air force, professional life, and retirement nickname)

Hallo Maureen,
I am the Great granddaughter of Tamzen Doughty BENSKIN who was the sister of your uncle's grandfather Frederick John Benskin b.1848 Ramsgate, son of William Benskin (b.1805 Margate) and Mary Ann OFFEN.
According to the 1891 and 1901 census Frederick John was Baptist Minister at Huddersfield.
I am desperate to find out more about Tamzen's siblings and their families. Tamzen died in 1895 age 54, but we have no photos of her or her siblings. Like you, I have her ancestry back to John 1700. Any info would be received most gratefully.

Dear Anne in Ramsgate,
What a beautiful area you live in. I visited the area in 1988 and had a great time.

I have ancestry of Tamazin Doughty on the Doughty side, as I am a direct descendant; she being my 4th great grandmother.

I will send you the history if you send me your e-mail address.

My e-mail is

Which of Tamazin's children are you descended from?

I received your information in the mail a couple of weeks ago. Thanks very, very much.

Right now i am very busy assisting a friend in laying a photo history of a nearby town that needs to go to the publisher.

I am also President of the Iowa Genealogical Society and need to get another publication ready to be mailed.

But I will get to your information as soon as possible and get it integrated into the rest of the Benskin information.

Thank you so much.
