I am very interested in the histories of all of these families, I think they are interconnected - in the past they were not very hot on accurate spelling!
I have found a lot of them in Germany in the 18th and 19th C. There appear to be a lot more Minichs than the other ones, but as an example I have found 13-20 Menichs in Wuerttenberg (Germany) and 60 in PA between 1790-1870.
Let me know how I can help you
Regards, DM.

My 3rd great-grandfather was John Phillip Mennig who married Elizabeth Dorothea Schwab. At least one of their children was born in Billingshausen, Bavaria in 1832. They were in Armstrong County, PA not later than 1839. Some of the children ended up in Scott County, Iowa, and O'Brien County,Iowa, moving around 1855 or earlier.

My husband's greatgrandfather Abraham Miinnick was born Sept10, 1822 in Penn. He had several brothers but had an argument with his brothers over his lending money to his father, when his father died. He left and came west and never spoke of them again. He married Catherine Kefsinger or Kessinger born Mar.29,1824 in Stephenson Co, Ill. Mar.29, 1853. They later came to Franklin co. Riverton, Ne. They had 3 sons Henry Steve, Rollen Andrew, and George. There name was spelled Minick or Minich, but George changed it to Minnick. We do not know Abrahams father or mothers name. Lots of relatives here. Would like any information you might have of parents or brothers.

I am looking for family of my great grandfather, given name uknown, last name either Minich or Minnich.
He was born in PA probably in the 1820s. From information on census reports, he married a Margaret A. (Unknown) who was born in 1834 in VA. In 1854, they had one son, Joseph Peer Minich, born in TX.The father evidently died, because we found record of 2nd marriage of Margaret A. Minnich to Wm P. Simms in 1858 in Lamar Co, TX. Have found nothing more on her until 1900 census, when she was living with her son (J.P. Minnick (spelling changed by that time), in Ellis Co, TX. Also have found obits of her death in Ellis Co, in 1906. Do any of these names sound familiar to you?
Thank you for any help you may be able to give.
Sincerely, V. Lee

My mother's family the Minnicks lived in Riverton, Nebraska and Missouri. There is a family cemetary outside of Riverton, NE. The story of the money and the leaving them all behind in anger following the father's death is our family history and Abraham's childrens names all match, there then appears to be the marriage to Catherine Aikin (b. New York 1828) and also two femail children named Mary Alice Minnick (b. 1857) and Emma A. Minnick b. Illinois, 1869.

George's middle name is Dudley. He married 2nd wife Jane Rust-Minnick (b. Pekin, Illinois, 9-6-1875, d. 5-20-1950) in 1893.

They had my grandfather 1. Daniel Abraham Minnick (b. 6-29-1897) (d. 8-1972)
and my aunt 2. Frances Catherine Minnick-Dallman (b. 11-17-1905) (d.6-28-98)

Daniel Minnick married Grace Ann Newton (b. 12-8-97, d 12-27-1946)
Their children are 1. Laverne Lois Minnick-Morrow (b. 4-23-1919 - )
2. Francis Dudley Minnick (b. 6-19-1922, d. 8-2000, Clinton MO.)
3. Leta Jane Minnick-Norton, (b. 1-27-36 - )

Question - Is there any information on a Don Minnick.

- and so on and so on - I have more!

I hope this helps and that someone can help in return.

My greatgrandfather, Karl Charles Menig, was born to parents who immigrated from Wurtemburg, Germany in the 1800's. The family settled in Fond du Lac, WI.

Karl had two brothers who lost contact with each other by the 1930s. One brother, Erhard, went to Denver, CO and the other stayed in WI.

Please let me know if you desire further information.

I am very interested in Minich, Menich genealogy too. I believe my gr gr grandfather was Christian Minich b 1831 & d 1882 in Pennsylvania. His father was Andres Minich, probably from Germany. I think he came to America in 1831 on the Brig. Mercure through the Port of Philadelphia but I think he died before 1940. I am at a loss - no death record and I'm not sure where he came from in Germany or France. He was married to a Mary Ann Helbling.

Any information on the Minich's would be wonderful. I can be reached at
