I have just become interested in tracing my family history, but I only know the list up to my grandparents. If anyone is related or can expand on this please let me know:

Grandparents: Neil Spruill and Pauline Dale Spruill had four children--William M. Spruill (My father), Wilfred Dale Spruill, Carlton Spruill and Patricia Spruill (deceased).

Patricia Spruill had several children, but I'm not sure who they are.

My father William had five daughters and a son from his first marriage to Linda (?)--Lenora Spruill, William Marion Jr. (deceased), Teresa Spruill, Wanda Spruill, and Melony Spruill. From His second marriage to Patricia Derby Spruill, he had two daughters--Marion Gene Spruill Christina Spruill (me)

My Sister, Marion Gene married James Collins and has one daughter, Arista Rose Collins.

My uncle Wilfred dale married Brenda Deaton and had two sons--Mark Spruill and Mike Spruill.

My uncle Carlton married Rebecca (?) and had two son and one daughter--Johnny Spruill, Wade Spruill (deceased) and Joanne Spruill. Joanne married Paul Forbes and had one son and one daughter--Amy Forbes and Wesley Forbes.

That's all I know so far--does this sound familiar to anyone?

Hi Christina,
I read you e-mail and noticed that the names of your relatives caught my attention! First of all, I'm honored to always know if there is another Carlton Spruill (there aren't many that I know of).
Second, my father's name is John Winfred Spruill (Deceased) from Bertie County NC. Most of his relatives and friends used to call him "Wint" (short from his middle name) My mother, Idena Spruill is from Oxford NC and is during well.
I'm married -- with two sons and is a college graduate. I also
have one brother and one sister.
From what I understand, Hertford isn't far from Bertie County. I really do not know alot about my family history either, but would very much like to.
I really think that there is a relative connection here. I truly enjoyed reading your e-mail and THANKS!

hello, carlton,

my great-grandmother, virginia dare spruill (known as "jennie"), was married to my great-grandfather, joseph s hopkins, a farmer in martin county nc, just across the river from the bertie county you mentioned. she was 59 years old at the 1920 census and so was born about 1861. these are all the facts we have. have you come across a virginia dare spruill, or "jennie," in your own research? your note was posted a little while back, but i am just coming into this. hope to hear from you...thanks.

HI, you are the area that I,m looking for someone. The name is Lucy Spruill. Her mother was my half aunt, that I never got to know. Her mother was my great-grandmother Lucy Thomas. She was married before, had a son Roy Vance Thomas Sr. His half sister Eva, who is Lucy mother, I was told she had the history on the Thomas family. All I know is that lucy lives in Plymouth,N.C. My whole family is from Martin Cty., and surrounding area and it is hard to find anything on anyone from there. Hope you know her.Hope to hear back. Joyce

Any connection to Patsy Spruil/Spruill who was married to Jim (James)Dempsey, she was my ggm Geneva Dempsey Skinner mother. On the 1880 Census her home was Scuppernong, Tyrrell Cty., NC. Household members: James, Patsy, Eliza, William, Matilda ( which I think is mis-spelled Martilla) and Henry.

Searching for my gggm Patsy Spruil/Spruill Dempsey's family. I was told there are alot of Spruill that were and still may be living in Perquimans Cty., NC
