Is this the same one that invented the coal miners hat?

well, sorta. He invented the carbide lamp that the coal miners used on their helmets. You would think that some one Knighted would have their ancestory well documented. Haven't been into the genealogy that long, and I sure can run into some walls. Any help would be appreciated. Stanpoint@aol.com

I'm told that I'm directly related to Dr. John Davy, Humphry's brother.
John grandson, Thomas Oliver, left for the US at the turn of the 20th Century. Any conections?

I dont know. I am told my GG-Grandfather Albert Davy or Davey was related to Sir H. Davy.A cousin or something. He came to Canada from England, from a family of ship builders. He married Annie Duevall from France and he became a fur trapper and expedition guide and drowned in Canada. His wife and family then moved to Ohio in U.S. One of his 8 children,William moved to Joplin Mo and and supposedly had 2 children who might know of their family history. The rest of the children didnt have children except my G Grnandmother Amy Davey/Dewey whom didnt leave any info about her fathers family.Except to say that they were related to Davyes.

John Davy/Sir Humphrey etc

I've been told also that our Davy line is related to Sir H. He and his wife never had children, though. I'd love to share information. I also have somewhat of a genealogy on Sir H. and his family if you'd like that as well. E-mail me at Jeehresman@aol.com
