My great great grandparents came from Bohemia.
JOSEPH MOVAK SR. b. 10/14/1833 in Bosovice, Bohemia. Died 3/01/1900 in Webster Co. Iowa. Married in Bohemia
MARY HENSLEK-SEDIAITY-ZENIS-SEDIVEC (wife) b. 9/14/1833 in Bohemia. Died 2/22/1896 Webster Co. Iowa.
Does anyone know of an e-mail site that I could directly correspond with someone in Bohemia (Czech Republic). I would like to learn if I still have relatives in or around my relatives birth place.
JOSEPH AND MARY'S daughter KATHRENA NOVAK married MARTIN JOSEPH STUPKA in Czehoslovakia. They are my gr. grandparents.
On my other side, my gr. grandparents came from Bohemia too. Their names were JOSEPH MRAZ and CATHERINE WEGNER. I do not much information on them.

My great grand mother is Katerina Mraz. She married Jan Pecimon. They had a daughter named Frantiska who was born June 7,1879 In Plavecky Sv. Mikulas,Slovensko.I have her baptismal record. It lists 2 other names that I think are her god parents but I am not sure because I can not read slovak. The names are Tereza Mraz and Frantisek Hlavaty. I don't know if Katerina is your Catherine but it could be.Plaese let me know if it is.

I would like to know more of the background of my great-grandfather Stupka. He married 3 times and had about 13 children. He was born in 1837, lived in Vavriosovo Slovakia and died in 1914 in that same village. One of his wives, my great-grandmother was Emilka Tomcheck. Another of his wives was a Steuzek. He was a captain in the Austrio-Hungarian Empire under the Kaiser. The names of some of his children were:

Josef (my grandfather by Emilka)
Eva, Marie, Matthew, Michael, Andrew, Jan, Susan and Peter

I have contact with a family in Slovakia who came from that village with a grandparent named Peter. They said that the communists had destroyed a lot of records so they would have to travel a distance to find any records.

I have heard that we have come from Bohemia, but not sure how that figures in.

Satterwaite) she was born 2-10-07 in Arcadia, Nebraska. Her parents were from bohemia. Anyone before Jennie has been lost to history. Thanx
