Hello any GARGUS family member . I need help. I am working on two separate trees, not related in any way and have turned up a bunch of GARGUS people in both trees. i do have info that you might want.robert garguis is the dad to columbus.i am not sure what all you are wanting. how are you related? robert was married to laney(malaney)jones.hthey were my greatgrandparents.

Connecting Tree1 to Tree 2---David of Tree 2 is the son of Robert Tree 1 b. 1820 d1880. Robert Tree 1 is my great-great grandfather.

HEATH: A funeral service for G. Stephen Gargus, 83, of Heath, Ohio (Licking County) will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Brucker-Kishler Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Spring Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8 PM on Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Gargus passed away on April 11, 2014 at Flint Ridge Nursing Home.

He was born on February 24, 1931 to the late Stanley and Ores (Rhodes) Gargus in Mayfield, KY.
He is survived by his sons, Daniel Gargus, of Newark, Ohio, Jamison (Diane L.) Gargus of Newark and Christopher (Vicki) Gargus of Heath; grandchildren, Jason and Erica Gargus, Jon and Jason Porter; great-granddaughter, Saydie Porter; sister, Ala S. Bynum of Newark.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Diane K. Gargus; grandson, Tyler Gargus; and brother, Veltman P. Gargus.

Mr. Gargus retired from Newark Air Force Base after 25 years as a RPO officer/Metrology department.
He served honorably in the U.S. Navy.
He was a member and deacon of the First Presbyterian Church in Newark and was past Master of the Center Star Lodge #11 in 1977 and 1990.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First Presbyterian Church, 65 N. Third St., Newark, OH or Generations Hospice, 26 N. Westmoor Ave., Newark, OH.
