I am a descendant of Michael Kellett, son of Michael Kellett and Bridget Roe, who emigrated from Ireland to the U.S. in 1866. He left his home in Kells, Ireland to settle in Saline County, Missouri. Family relatives are still found in Kells. Once settled in Missouri, Michael helped his younger brothers, Philip, John, William and Patrick, and his sister Mary, to move to America. Does anyone have information on the descendants of Michael Kellett's siblings?

I found a Michael Kellett today in the 1890 Police Census of NYC, NY. He's shown with a Bridget Kellett. Age for both shown as 29.
The name is spelled Kellet (with one t) but I'm relatively sure he is the Michael I was looking for.

My great grandfather is Peter Kellett - born in Ireland in 1852, immigrated to US in 1880, naturalized 1885.

In 1888, Michael Kellett immigrated to the US on the SS Britannic. His age on the ship's manifest is shown as 24. He naturalized in 1893, his witness was his brother Peter, Michael's occupation was tailor. I had an address on the naturalization papers and several in NYC directories and looked for the most likely address for the 1890 Police Census - and found Michael. It doesn't seem as though this is your Michael Kellett - though it's odd he's also listed with a Bridget. Is this of any help?

A Patrick Kellett also came to the States in 1880, 2 weeks later than Peter, naturalized 3 months later than Peter, lived next door to Peter in 1885 (their naturalization year). I have to believe they're related (Patrick is about 2 years younger than Peter), but I can't document that.

I also can't find the county in Ireland that these three Kelletts are from. Does anyone out there know anything about them?

Peter was married to Ann McEvoy; his parents were Patrick Kellett and Mame(?) Caffrey. Ann's parents were Patrick and Mary McEvoy. She had a sister named Catharine (McEvoy) Garrigan, who was born in 1849 and came to the States around 1884.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hello, I am a descendant of Mary Margaret Kellett, Michael's sister (born right after Michael) in 1849. She married John Joseph Kennedy. Together they had 9 children (Mary, Francis, Michael, Ellen, Dennis, J Thomas, John Joseph, Theresa, Margaret). Ellen (born 1881), their 4th child married Robert Emmett Keenan. They had 3 children (Joseph, Ellen and a baby boy whom died shortly after birth). Joseph is my grandfather. The family lived in Saline, MI and were farmers.

Hello, I am a great granddaughter of William Kellett. I was raised in Marshall MO near where the Kellett famly settled. I have been searching the Kellett children of Michael & Bridget (Roe). I can discuss more information with you if you wish.
