Rix Perry, James Henry Hayley families
I am researching several families in Marshall County. All of them moved from Wake Co., NC to the Marshall Co. MS area.
Rix PERRY 1804-1847) and wife Martha A. E. FORT (c1810-c1845), both born Wake Co., NC and died in Marshall Co., MS. Their children, all born Wake Co., NC, all md. Marshall Co., MS: Larkin J. W. PERRY (1829-c1864 - Civil War) md. Texie V. BOWEN; Geneva Ann Hank PERRY (1830-1910) md. Jacob William HAYLEY; John Robert T. PERRY (1833-c1864 - Civil War) md. Sarah V. BOWEN; and Martha Ann Rix PERRY(1835-?) md. James W. DUNNAVANT.
In addition, Martha A. E. (Fort) PERRY's brother, James Washington FORT moved to Marshall Co., MS. His wife was Rebecca H. ROBINSON, also of NC.
Rix PERRY's mother, Frances (RICHARDS) PERRY moved to MS with the family and died in 1867 in Panola Co., MS. His father, Robert, died in 1837 in Wake Co., NC. Burwell Robert PERRY, Rix's brother, also came to MS.
Jacob William HAYLEY (1824-1898) came to MS with his parents James Henry HAYLEY and Mary Ann MOORING and siblings: Sarah Letitia, md. William Joseph GILPIN; Richard Henry, md. Prenetta TULL; Velenia Elizabeth, md. Joshua Clark WILBORN; Arthilia Moring, md. Matthew LaFon CATHEY; Lucy Frances, md. Thomas Dickey CATHEY; Haseltine Johnson, md. Jesse F. DAVIS; Sarah P., md. Henry H. HARRIS; Ann Eliza, md. Alexander CATHEY, Jr.; and Augusta Sallie, md. George W. PERRY.
Many of these families moved to Texas after the Civil War.
