I am trying to put together a family tree. My grandmother was Mary Milan and married Raymond Kress and Clarence Davis. Her Siblings include, Anne DeRoose, Stell ? and William amoung others. I am looking for more information on any ancestors or descendants of the above people. They are primarily from New York State but their parents came from overseas.

My grandfather was Thomas Milan, a New York City policeman born in NYC in 1883. His father was Patrick Milan born in County Cork, Ireland and mother was Margaret MacMahon. His older brothers, from a previous marriage were named Dempsey.

My husband's family came from County Cork and some research has been done, it would be nice to see if there are any more relationships. We have lived in Grand Rapids, Michigan and my husband's grandfather was James Milan. The original Irish spelling was Moylan. Please e-mail me and we can compare notes. \Thank You, Mary

Milan, Thomas (Dec. 1883- Feb 1939) born in NYC to Patrick Milan and Margaret (MacMahon) Milan. My mother's father was an NYC policeman. Patrick was born in County Cork, Ireland. They had another son Edward. That's about all I remember, but I'll ask Mom.

Thanks for responding, there may not be any connection, but there are so many possibilities that it can't hurt to keep trying. Most of our relatives have been here in Michigan.

Also looking for a MacMahon

Hi I am looking for any information on Henrietta & Beatrice MacMahon. Do you or your Mom know of these names? Henrietta married a Smith & moved to Canada. Beatrice married Rab Finney. I would venture that they where born approx around 1894 in Dundee Scotland. If you could help I would so so appreciate it!

The name you listed are not familiar. The only name associated with the MacMahon (sp) link. I know is a form of Margaret. As far as I know she lived in NYC and had previously married a man named Demsey.

Classification: Query
My grandmother’s great grandfather was John Milan from Croom, Co. Limerick, Ireland b. 1809 he lived the majority of his life in Galesburg, IL where he dies in 1899 at 90.
I'm fairly sure John Milan had relatives in the states (brothers, cousins etc..) but have been unable to find anything.. In truth I can't even find anything out about him or his wife before they left Ireland (very frustrating) So I've started posting on message boards hopeful that one day Something may turn up. I was intrigued when I saw your posting about Milan’s from Ireland and thought I’d drop a line (you can see my complete posting in the forum, it's the newest one there titles: MILAN Family (possible variants MOYLAN, MOILAN, MYLAN, MELAN, MILEN)
