Hi Jasmine,
I have a huge amount of information about your family tree. The reason being that I researched Alexander thinking that he was one of mine. The family came originally from the Borders of Scotland.I have got back to 1760 in the parish of Eccles. I just don't know where to start. How much info do you have already?

Hi Jasmine
Alexander who married Jane McConnachie was born in Newhills parish, Aberdeenshire, Scotland on the 18th Dec 1814.My Gr Gr Grandfather was also an Alexander Kinghorn born around 1813 in Aberdeenhsire.I do not know who his parents were.
Your Alexander's parents were Adam Kinghorn and Jane cocker.Adam was a farmer who lived at Redbog in Strichen Parish, Aberdeenshire.
I have a copy of the marriage certificate of James and Mary Anderson (3rd Jun 1865 )if you are interested.Going back in time from Adam, his father was Adam Kinghorn and his Mother was Helen Miller from Berwickshire.
Information came from Old Parish Records and Statutary Records from the record office in Edinburgh.

Hi, Wiley,
I cannot help much with your research, but I think that you may have a connection with Erica Povey, who also appears on the message Board

I am trying to find out about Albert Kinghorn (born 1909 in Finnerey, Echt) and his ancestors. His mother was Isabella Kinghorn (d.o.b. ??) a domestic servant. I believe Albert immigrated to New Zealand in 1930 and was last recorded in the 1961 Census living in Wellington, New Zealand.
If you have any information, I would appreciate it.

Thankyou for the info on the Kinghorns. I have managed to ascertain that the Kinghorns forwarded are our family. What I would like to find out is whether there are any living members in Scotland. This may prove difficult as the only male that lived beyond 21yrs was Alexander(son of James and Mary)who came to NZ and I can trace his NZ family.I wondered Whether I should put an advert in one of the Aberdeen papers? If so could you recommend one.You also mentioned there was a Kinghorn in Echt at the last census, could you please forward their address.

I have made contact with a cousin of my mother's to find out that Yasmin is her sisters daughter consequently I have received the info that Yasmin had.A friend has a CD of the 1881 census which was a great help plus what is on the family search but that still leaves family members off the list such as my grandmother and her sister. We always understood there to be 19 children but the list indicates only 16.I'm not sure where to go from here.
Thanks again
