Have you ever heard of Robert Edward Dameron? James Allison?
My Great Grandfather was Robert Edward Dameron married to Jennie Allison in Palmyra (NJ?) on 6 Feb 1896. I have no info on Robert's parents.
He and Jennie had 8 children (Frank Arthur 17 Apr 1908 (my grandfather) Philadelphia PA, Lillian Isabelle 15 Aug 1910Hatboro PA, Robert George 22 Dec 1896 (died after birth) Richmond VA, Robert Edward 16 Nov 1898 Philadelphia PA, William Vincent 15 Feb 1900 Philadelphia PA, Jennie Estelle 15 Nov 1902 Philadelphia PA, Mary Rebecca 21 Dec 1904 Philadelphia PA, and Ruth Elizabeth12 Aug 1906 Hatboro PA)

Jennie Allison's parents were William and Betty Allison. Her paternal grandparents were James and Mary Allison from Donegal County Ireland. They went to Kinsale, VA

My grandfather (Frank Arthur) and father lived pretty much in the Philadelphia, Pennyslvania area. My grandmother was Marjorie Hood (descending from Bernard Hood and Clementine Cressent (Frances Clement Cressent and Anna Marie Craven)).

15+ years! - So I'm not holding out a lot of hope here. I have two James Allisons from Donegal in my ancestry, but neither is your ancestor James. Just hoping you have more about the Donegal Allisons and maybe could shed some light.

The first James was born before 1820 (likely by a good number of years) in Donegal. He married Nancy Somers (some claim it's Sawyers). Both likely died in Donegal, but I have no documentation of their deaths.

Their son, James M. Allison, b. 18 Nov 1835 in Donegal, d. 6 Apr 1916 in Menard County, Illinois. His wife was Ann (or Anne) Montgomery, b. 4 Apr 1835 in Donegal. d. 18 Oct 1906 in Logan County, Illinois.

Do those names ring any bells? I have no parents for Ann Montgomery, or for the elder James and his wife Nancy.
