I am not a family member, but I do have some books of transcribed records for Johnston County. In a book title Kinsfolk of Johnston Co. Abstracts of Deed 1759-1825 by Elizabeth E. Ross there is this entry:

16 Feb. 1811 Elizabeth Peacock Senr, Jesse Peacock, Daniel Peacock, Elizabeth Peacock Jr, Selah Holmes & Benj Holmes, Priscilla Stansill, Godfrey Stansill, Zeplha Peacock, & Wiley Peacock of Wayne County sell to John Peacock of Johnston County for 5 sh. each... 110 ac. on run of Watery Branch, adj. John Fellows, Simon Pearce & Ephriam Pearce...
Wit: Fredrick Holmes, Samuel Copeland Feb. Ct. 1813

Hope this helps you out.

Yes it does help - thanks so much Victor. This is only the 2nd reference I've found in my research to Wiley Peacock, my GGG Grandfather. First was listing in a War of 1812 roster. Your info gives me names of husbands of two of his sisters, Selah and Priscilla - one more piece of the puzzle - Thanks again. - Ray

Ray: I wonder if your HORTON family comes from Johnston Co., NC? I just learned that my ggg-grandmother was Mary Melvina HORTON, m. Robert KING. Robert was born in Johnston Co., NC, in 1791; I am not sure about Mary. They had a son, Lewis Aleck KING. They ended up in S. GA, and then their descendants went on to Madison Co., FL. Are you or anyone you know researching the HORTON family? Thank you. Jan

I'm hoping you might have info on a John Horton and Nancy Hill who married in Wake Co. ca. 1840. Her parents were Henry Hill and Mary Brown Hill. Do you have any info on this family.

Wish I could help, but HORTON is the one side of the family I know virtually nothing about. My grandfather was an orphan, and I don't have his ancestry yet. - Ray
