I am the Ggranddaughter of Louanza Spicer and George Joshua Fields. Their daughter, Cisiah, was my maternal grandmother. I know that my Ggrandparents lived somewhere in Eastern Kentucky. My grandparents were married in Saldee, Ky. in 1922. I would appreciate any assistance any one might be able to give in tracing my family tree.

I can't connect your ggrandparents to Delaware but I have a Isaac Spicer marrying a Emma V Fields in New Castle County, DE on May 24, 1865. Both surnames were common in the DELMARVA area of DE, MD, and VA so it is possible they both came from there.

Althea: Do you by chance have a Sarah Jane (Fields or Fiels)
married to a Liberty Clemons? Sarah was born 1898 in
Breathitt Co., Ky. and supposedly her parents were
Sylvester Fiels or Fields and Lorraine Spicer Fields/Fiels.
This Lorraine was either 1/2 Indian or Full-blooded Indian.
I thought this was really a co-incidence that you have a
Nancy Louanza Spicer that md. George Joshua Fields; that
maybe she is the same as Lorraine (Spicer) that I have.
Hope what I have connects with your info.
Elsie

Elsie, I do not think that we are talking about the same people. I am certain their names were George Joshua Fields and Nancy Louanza Spicer Fields. In fact, one of my maternal aunt's is name after her grandmother. It is such an unusual name. But, I will post you a message in the future if I find otherwise. Althea
