Narcotic Poisoning
The Coroner's jury in the case of the young girl Overdorff, who died under somewhat suspicious circumstances, rendered the follwoing verdict on Thursday, 27th.
We, the undersigned jurors, empannelled by Coroner W. T. Miller to inquire into the cause and manner of the death of Ollie Elnora Overdorf, who died in West Indiana, on Daturday Oct 25, 1890, do find that she came to her death by the ignorant, imprudent and improper administration of narcotics by James White, a mand practicing medicine in this community, and that we severely censure the employment of reputed medical practitioners, who possess no knowledge of physiology, and are entirely ignorant of manifestations of disease or the effects of drugs or recognized medical preparations and we invite the attention of the proper authorities to the case.
