Hi Everyone,

I am hoping to find family information on a Peter Paul Patrick HENNESSEY (known as Patrick) born abt. 1853c, possibly in Clare or Kilkenny. He was a bit of a wanderer.

His father was John HENNESSEY, mother is unknown. He also had a brother named, John and and a sister, Mary - who was possibly older.

Patrick moved to Australia in 1841 aged 22. He died there in 1917.

Any information would be welcomed.

No relation:

Peter Patrick born 1854 Co. Kildare father John

Patrick 6 in 1853: Kilkenny, Offaly, Westmeath, Cork

I note you write born 1853 but off to Australia in 1841?typo! That would change the search!

The above birth records come from a county genealogy Foundation with bmd's from all but six counties in Ireland, Clare being one of the six counties that is not a member.

Griffith Valuations serve as a census substitute
there were only two John Hennessey's in Kildare in 1852, these are an example of what can be found:

John Hennessey, Parish of Castledermot, Townland Abbeyland
tenant of Thomas Farrell #4 house and forge & garden 0 acres.1 rood.8perches

John Hennessy, Parish of Churchtown, Shruleen Lane, Townparks, tenant of Thomas Hearn #2 house and yard 0 land.

In Kilkenny there are 21 John Hennesey's and in Clare 15. and

Peter Paul Patrick Hennessey is my second great grandfather- check out my family tree for details on his descendants!! I am a bit stuck on any details of his early life or parentage too.

I knew he had a brother John, and thanks to you, I now know he had a sister Mary!
