I have in my family history a Louisa Sidney Winter, daughter of George and Lenora Sophia (nee' Bradscomb) Winter, marrying James Hugh Pitcher. George was from Newfoundland, then British Guiana, then Barbados. Their daughter, Kathleen, married a Hood (first name unknown). I have much more info regarding the Winters on my website at:

with many updates planned. Feel free to email me directly if you need more info.

To expand on the Winter information in your post:

F.A.R. Winter, mentioned in the death notice for his doughter Louisa Winter, is my GGG Grandfather. He emigrated to British Guiana from St. Johns, Newfoundland with his brother George. The Winters were a prominent family in Newfoundland. George and his family eventually ended up in Barbados, and are probably the Winters that Tara-Jane is looking for.

Alexander Winter, the Justice of the Peace for County Berbice, was another of F.A.R. (Frederick Augustus Rothwell) Winter's children.

My grandmother was Olive Anastasia WALROND third of 5 daughters born to Dudley Clarence WALROND and Maria Agatha FISHER. Her grandfather was William Edward WALROND b 1838 who married Mary Louise FISHER in Barbados.
Any connection? This is one part of my family I do not know. I was born in England and now live in France. Having never visited Barbados or Guyana I have lots of problems finding info.

My maternal grand-mother's name was Beatrice Waldron. From what I was told as a child, her family was from the British Isles. I am not sure where she was born, but she married a David Applewhaite in British Guiana (now Guyana) and had 5 children. I am having a hard time finding her ancestry. If she is in your family tree, please let me know. She would have been born in the 1880s and she died in Guyana in 1961.
