I wish to make contact with family members of John P. Tierney, James Tierney, Edward Tierney, William F. Tierney, Joseph M Tierney and Frederick T. Tierney. They were born between 1908 and 1918 and now are deceased. They had two sisters Alice (Tierney) Nagle and Margaret (Tierney) Milauskas who are also deceased.

Their parents were Patrick J Tierney and Margaret (Heath) Tierney both from Co. Galway, Ireland. Patrick Tierney died in 1963 and Margaret some years earlier.

I have exhausted all avenues at this stage and would be greatful for any information that can be provided.

Loving mother of Eileen Leveckis of Fairfax, CA and the late Beth Milauskas. Devoted Mimi to Stephen, Andrew, and Kaela as well as Will, Shannon, Kevin, Kelly and Emily. Predeceased by seven brothers and sisters. A funeral mass was said Saturday, July 10, in St. Augustine’s Church for Mary A. “Nan” Tierney. She was the wife of the late William F. Tierney; the mother of Joan Tierney of South Boston, William Tierney of South Boston, Joseph Tierney of Hyde Park, Robert Tierney of South Boston and the late John Tierney, Kenneth Tierney and Ann Marie Tierney. She also leaves 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Rose Tierney, age 47, of Portage, died on Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at her home. Cindy was born on June 2, 1957, in Portage, the daughter of Jon Jerome and Marjorie Rose (Burns) Ellis. She grew up on the family farm in Lewiston Township. In 1975, Cindy graduated from Portage High School, and then attended Madison Area Technical College, receiving a degree in practical nursing. She graduated, with honors, in 1989 from MATC in Reedsburg with an associate degree in nursing, and graduated, with honors, from Viterbo University in 1997 with a bachelor's degree in nursing. Cindy attended graduate school at Viterbo University and in 2001, received a master's degree in nursingclinical nurse specialist in family and community health, with a sub focus in nursing education, with honors. On Oct. 7, 1978, Cindy was married to William F. Tierney. She worked for 15 years in the emergency department at Divine Savior Healthcare, Portage, and prior to that, for 10 years at St. Clare Meadow, Baraboo, in a variety of areas. Cindy was a nationally registered emergency medical technician (NREMT) and instructor, and taught part-time at MATC in Madison in pre-hospital care, especially for the rural areas. She had also been a part-time instructor at Western Wisconsin Technical College in the associated degree program in nursing at Tomah and Mauston. In addition, Cindy taught at MATC, Reedsburg, in the practical nursing program and was preceptor for the UW- Oshkosh accelerated nursing degree program. She served her country as an officer in the U.S. Army Reserve Nurse Corps, stationed in Nuremberg, Germany during Operation Desert Storm, co-coordinating the management of a clinic for active duty military personnel and families. Cindy was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church. Professionally, she was a C.E.N. (certified emergency nurse) and a SAGE. She was a member of Sigma Theta Tau (an Honor Society for Nurses), the National Association for Clinical Nurse Specialists, and W.E.M.S.A. (Wisconsin Emergency Medical Services Association). She was also a member of the Portage Curling Club, a spouse's membership in B.P.O.E. No. 675, Friends of the Portage Library and the Portage Center for the Arts. Cindy was an avid and successful hunter, enjoying many days at her "favorite spot." She is survived by her husband, William "Bill"; two children, Elizabeth Rose (Michael Kissack) Tierney, Stevens Point, and Adam William (Amber Briggs) Tierney, Pardeeville; her granddaughter, Madalyn Morgan Tierney; her mother, Marge; her brothers and sisters, Terri (Todd Vanderhyden) LaFleur, Westfield, Lori (Glenn) Schultz, Caledonia Township, Jim Ellis, Lewiston Township, Kari (Steve) Moore, Black River Falls, and Annie (John) Stensrud, Portage; her brother-in-law, Bill LaFleur, Portage; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, William J. and Shirley Tierney, Portage; her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Tim (Cheryl) Tierney, Lawrenceville, Ga., and Terri (Mike) Wilson, Sacramento, Calif.; nieces; nephews; other relatives and many, many close friends. Her father; her grandparents; and a dear friend, Mary Portzen preceded her in death. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 6, 2004, at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, Portage, with Father John Hedrick presiding. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery, Briggsville, with military graveside services. Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 5, 2004, with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. at the PFLANZ MANTEY MENDRALA FUNERAL HOME, Portage, and also at the church on Saturday, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, friends may contribute to the nursing scholarship funds that have been established by Cindy. We count our lives in years, and yet more meaningful by far are the friends we've made along the way, and how close in hearts we are.
